650L Indicator/Safety Alarm Limit (FM)

Overview

Gefran 650L Series indicators are designed to interrupt the output in the event that the safety limit of an industrial process is exceeded.

Once a limit exceeded event occurs it is latched until reset by an operator acknowledgment action.

This reset can be done by the operator from the specific (red R) front key , digital input (optional) or serial line (optional).

The displays show the process values, plus multilingual scrolling messages for diagnostics and alarms.

The local configuration operation is performed with front panel keys. Permitted key presses are highlighted by their associated LED's above each key.

Easy commissioning is accomplished with a simplified and guided configuration for manual free programming, with only a few required parameters accompanied by intuitive on display help messages.

Using GF_eXpress software with a programming cable and PC, you can program the extended configuration, create recipes and update the firmware without having to switch on the instrument.

Thanks to the Smart Configurator function, you can create the initial required parameter recipe by answering a few simple questions. The parameters can always be reset, either from the keypad or from the GF_eXpress software.

The device offers complete diagnostics for a broken or an incorrectly connected sensor and has operation counters with settable alarm limits which are useful for scheduling preventive maintenance. A trigger counter and alarm memory reset timer are available for alarm 1. This information can help to evaluate furnace deterioration and plan maintenance work.

Maintenance of the system in which the device is installed is made easier by the ability to replace the instrument at any time simply by removing it from the case. No additional steps are needed.

  • Latched Setpoint Alarm relay to interupt the output in the event that the safety limit is exceeded
  • Alarm output remains latched until acknowledged by operator input
  • Alarm reset from front key, remote digital input or serial communications
  • Alarm limit exceeded count
  • Alarm limit exceeded timer
  • Operator interface with large LCD Display, customizable, with choice of colors
  • Scrolling diagnostics messages, configurable, in the selected language
  • Easy guided configuration even with power off using GF_Express Software
  • Multiple password levels
  • Universal input configurable for thermocouples, resistance thermometers, linear or custom inputs
  • Relay, logic and optional outputs
  • RS485 serial communication in Modbus RTU
  • Easy swap case for simple replacement
  • Sampling time 60 ms

1250L Indicator/Safety Alarm Limit (FM)

Overview

Indicators 1250 L used to limit overheating in industrial processes.

In the event of alarm, the instrument latches the fault conditions until reset by the operator. Reset can be run by the operator from the front key (red R), from the digital input (optional) or serial line (optional).

As an additional feature, the instrument counts the number of times the alarm limit is exceeded and total amount of time the alarm is active.

This information can help to evaluate furnace deterioration and plan maintenance work.

The displays show the process values, plus multilingual scrolling messages for diagnostics and alarms.

The 1250 L model includes a segmented bar that graphically displays the temperature deviation from the alarm limit.

Configuration and unit operation is done with the front keys.

The keys have dual-function LEDs indicating pressing of the keys. The LEDs provide feedback for pressed key and also provide guidance for permitted operations.

Initial commissioning is simplified by guided configuration text prompts that cover the commonly used base parameters accompanied by in line help messages.

With GF_eXpress software and PC, you can program the extended configuration, create recipes and update the firmware

without having to apply power to the instrument.

Thanks to the Smart Configurator function, you obtain the required configuration by answering a few simple questions. The initial parameters can always be reset, both from the keypad and from the GF_eXpress software.

The devices offer complete diagnostics (broken or incorrect connection of sensor), operation count, settable alarm limits (useful for scheduling preventive maintenance) A trigger meter and alarm memory reset timer are available for alarm 1.

Maintenance of the system in which the device is installed is made easier by the ability to replace the instrument at any time simply by removing it from the faceplate.

No additional steps are needed.

2308 Multizone indicator / alarm unit

The 2308 is a universal panel instrument for displaying up to 8 different variables with configurable alarm or switch points.

Its characteristics of configurability, as well as speed of acquisition and response, mean that it is an extremely versatile instrument that may be used for the display of physical phenomena with alarm switching in a diversity of industrial applications.

The instrument can accept temperature signals from isolated thermocouples, even of different types, and from 2 or 3-wires resistance thermometers, as well as from linear signals in dc voltage or current (e.g. potentiometers, amplified pressure probes, transmitters, etc.).

The selection of the input type for each channel is made by harware configuration, while the scale range (for linear inputs) may be configured from the front panel keys (software).

The instrument may be also be configured for 8 ac voltage inputs.

Shunts and dividers are available to condition the various ac voltage and current signal.

Alarm output are available with a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 10 using the MD81 external expansion unit.

The alarms themselves have multiple functions and allow ample freedom of choice.

In particular, AL1 and AL2 can be attributed to one of any of the 8 channels, or to indicate the state of the alarm condition of the input group (selectable in the range 1...8).

The passive current loop or RS485 serial link is convertible to RS232 using the CLB94 adapter.
